Improve Overall Wellness By Drinking Water This Summer

While summer may be coming to a close, the heat thrives onward. With rising temperatures comes a rising need to stay hydrated. There are many benefits to drinking water, especially in the summer months when the air is drier and the temperature higher. Many Americans are chronically dehydrated, which has negative effects on overall health and wellness.

Symptoms of Dehydration

  • Dry Mouth
  • Tiredness
  • Thirst
  • Decreased Urine Output
  • Headaches
  • Dizziness/Lightheadedness
  • Often Mistaken as Hunger

It’s even more important than ever to drink water during the summer months due to larger losses of bodily fluid through sweating. Loss of bodily fluid due to arid weather and increased physical activity increase the likelihood of dehydration and result in discomforting symptoms.

Drinking Water During the Summer

Drinking water is one of the most important elements of our daily diets. Water regulates body temperature, sustains healthy vital organs, transports nutrients throughout the body and helps maintain healthy blood pressure, among many other properties. Excessive sweating during the summer months to do physical activity and high temperatures creates greater fluid needs. When trying to stay hydrated during the summer, or anytime, water is the best option for replenishing fluids.

Additionally, drinking water helps flush toxins out of the body. This is especially important after a chiropractic adjustment. During a chiropractic adjustment, the body releases all of the tension it’s been holding. At the same time, various toxins are released that have been built up as a result of the tension. In order to eliminate these toxins and the effects they may have on the body, it’s important to stay hydrated and drink water after chiropractic adjustments.

Remember to drink water this summer to fight dehydration and improve overall health and wellness. Drinking water has many benefits, especially in the summer and after chiropractic adjustments.
